Dr Michael Jasper is a registered architect, educator and Professor of Architecture at the University of Canberra. His career spans professional architectural practice, higher education, design research and national policy advocacy. Before joining UC, he was a Partner at New York–based firm Cooper Robertson & Partners. At UC, he has advanced architectural knowledge through teaching, research and leadership, contributing to major program and course reforms, university governance, and engagement with government and industry.
He has played key roles in national education policy, including revisions to architecture accreditation standards and broader built environment debates.
Michael has served on numerous influential committees, including the University Academic Board, the SAGE Athena SWAN gender equity task force, and the ACT Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience Research Network. He is Chair of the Faculty Board (Arts and Design), a founding Director of the Alastair Swayn Foundation, and an Expert Member of the ACT Heritage Council.
